Seminars in Neuroscience is a (bi)annual symposium that aims to create an environment of scientific discussion, gathering Latin American students and leading investigators to discuss current work in the neurosciences. Speakers of other disciplines, such as immunology, epidemiology, and metabolism, bring different conceptual views to the debate, enriching the scientific discussions.  The Seminars will also have the presence of the Instituto Serrapilheira to discuss new opportunities for funding basic biomedical research in Brazil. 

The interactive format of the Seminars stimulates students who aim to pursue a career abroad to be in close contact with the speakers. The event will be held at the Medical School (FAMED) of Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS), on the 20th and 21st of November, 2017.
